MARK RUCKER - NABUCCO (12/10 & 12/12) Mark Rucker made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Amonasro in Aida in 2004 and has since been heard in the house as Don Carlo in La forza del destino, Tonio in I pagliacci, and as the title role in Rigoletto for the Met in the Parks. He made his Carnegie Hall debut as Don Carlo in La forza del destino. Other appearances include Rigoletto with the New York City Opera, Renato in Un ballo in maschera and Amonasro in Aida with the San Diego Opera. He made his European debut as Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana and Tonio in I pagliacci for Opera de Nice, and has continued his European career with performances as Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana at the Vienna State Opera, Amonasro in Aida for the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. Mr. Rucker has sung the majority of the dramatic baritone repertoire to the theaters of Amsterdam, Atlanta, Cleveland, Connecticut, Detroit, Dublin, Graz, Milwaukee, North Carolina, Opera Pacific, Orlando, Portland, Virginia, among many others.
SEBASTIAN CATANA - NABUCCO (12/11 & 12/13) In 2010-11 Sebastian Catana will Parma as Ezio in Attila, debut Opera de Lyon as Miller in Luisa Miller, I Due Foscari for his debut in Trieste, Nabucco with Pam Beach Opera, and Verdi’s Conte di Luna in Il Trovatore for his debut in Hong Kong. In 2011-12 he will debut the role of Scarpia in a new production of Tosca at Oper Leipzig, and will return to Lausanne the following season to debut as Ford in Falstaff. In 2009-10 Sebastian Catana sang the title role of Macbeth in Munich with the Bayerischen Rundfunk Orchestra and debuts Teatro Regio di Torino as Miller in Luisa Miller, as well as the title role of Nabucco with the Frankfurt Opera. In 2008-09 he debuted the role of Germont in La Traviata in Lausanne, returned to the Met for La Boheme and Madama Butterfly, debuted the San Francisco Opera as Germont and Enrico in Lucia with the Virginia Opera. In 2006-07 he made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Valentine in Faust.
LAURA VLASAK NOLEN - FENENA Texas native Laura Vlasak Nolen has quickly established herself on the operatic scene. She made her professional debut singing Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte at Cleveland Opera. Ms. Nolen's most recent success was as Giulietta in Les contes d'Hoffmann with the Metropolitan Opera. Other highlights include engagements with the Metropolitan Opera for its productions of the world premiere opera An American Tragedy and Die Walküre, which toured in Japan. In 2008-09 she returned to the Metropolitan Opera to sing Inez in Il trovatore. She has also sung the role of Iras in Antony and Cleopatra with New York City Opera; the title role of Giulio Cesare with Glimmerglass Opera; the role of Malcolm in New York City Opera's production of La donna del lago; Dorotea in Pedrotti's Tutti in maschera at Wexford Festival Opera; Dorabella in Così fan tutte with Madison Opera. Her 2010-11 season currently includes singing Adalgisa in Norma with Lyric Opera of Kansas City. In 2005, she was a National Semi-Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
GUY MONTAVON - STAGE DIRECTOR Born in Geneva, Guy Montavon has held the position of General Manager for the Erfurt Opera Company in Germany since 2002. He made his debut as a director in Erfurt with the production of Strauss’ Friedenstag at the DomStufen-Festspiele in 2003. In 2005 he directed the world premiere of the new opera Waiting for the Barbarians by the Philip Glass. As an assistant to the internationally renowned director Giancarlo del Monaco, Mr. Montavon worked at many different opera houses, including those of Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart, Bregenz and Barcelona, as well as at the New York Metropolitan Opera. Mr. Montavon previously held the position of Artistic Director and Deputy Operatic Director for the Bonn Opera House from 1992-1995. He recently directed in Montreal Lucia di Lammermore and Otello in Palm Beach under the baton of Maestro Guadagno.
